And knowing their thoughts he said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

And knowing their thoughts, He said to them, Any kingdom that is divided against itself is being brought to desolation {and} laid waste, and no city {or} house divided against itself will last {or} continue to stand.

Contemporary English Version
Jesus knew what they were thinking, and he said to them: Any kingdom where people fight each other will end up ruined. And a town or family that fights will soon destroy itself.

But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not subsist.
