sermonette: The Paradoxical Test of Character

Offertory
Martin G. Collins
Given 16-Sep-04; Sermon #685As; 12 minutes

Description: (hide)

The Bible provides many examples of tests of character, including those of Abraham, Jacob, David, as well as Jesus Christ. God continually tests us to show areas of weaknesses and strengths in our lives. Even though the tests are difficult, God never puts upon us any more than we are able to endure, and occasionally does provide a much needed way of escape. Our faith, patience, perseverance, and our very character are vastly improved as a result of trials. Trials promote a willingness to sacrifice and give generously. Our willingness to give generously proves a test of our character.
