sermonette: Naaman's Gift

Being a Gift to Others By Emulating God
Ted E. Bowling
Given 24-Feb-07; Sermon #815s; 12 minutes

Description: (hide)

Our lives must be living sacrifices made possible by the gift of God's Holy Spirit. If we are using the gifts God has given us, we should be taking on God's characteristics, becoming a blessing to those around us. In the story of Naaman's healing from leprosy, a young servant girl became a catalyst to introduce her master to Elisha. Even though she herself had no power, her sterling faith became instrumental in Naaman's tapping into the power of the Eternal God. When Naaman felt humiliated by having been asked by Elisha to bathe in the River Jordan, his servants encouraged Naaman to humble himself, yielding to the will of God. Similarly we need to honor God, becoming a blessing to the people around us.
