sermonette: The Second Exodus (Part 1)

God's Mercy and Justice Toward Jacob
David C. Grabbe
Given 02-Jun-07; Sermon #832s; 15 minutes

Description: (hide)

One-third of the Bible is prophecy and ninety percent of it, most directed at the descendants of Jacob, remains yet to be fulfilled. In the future, the divided houses of Judah and Israel will be united under one kingdom. Hounded by Babylonian, Greek, and Roman overseers, the descendants of Jacob have been in a state of perpetual trouble, symbolized by the pangs of labor experienced by a woman in childbirth. Evidently only a minuscule remnant will survive the horrendous agony of the coming chastening and scattering. Following humiliating punishment, the descendants of Israel, under the leadership of Jesus Christ, under the New Covenant, will experience prosperity and well-being in the latter days.
