sermonette: Electronic Edification - Part Two

Builing up our spiritual edifice
Bill Onisick
Given 09-Jun-07; Sermon #833s; 16 minutes

Description: (hide)

Online communication has deficiencies, such as not taking body language, humor, euphemisms, or sarcasm into account. The ability to edify with e-mail is much more difficult than with face to face communication. Likewise, the dangers of losing e-mail are far greater than with conventional forms of mail. Consequently, the most important correspondences (such as correction or responding to injustices) should be sent using other forms of communication, placing the e-mail in back-up storage. There are many positive uses of the Internet, such as sending messages of encouragement or condolence, emphasizing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control.
