sermonette: The Second Exodus (Part 2)

God's Faithfulness
David C. Grabbe
Given 21-Jul-07; Sermon #839s; 15 minutes

Description: (hide)

God will ultimately rescue Jacob's descendants out of their trouble, allowing a remnant to be delivered through a second Exodus after God's fury and wrath is poured out on those who teach that sin has no consequences and that grace has made law keeping unnecessary. The surviving remnant will be truly repentant, understanding their true identity as the lost ten tribes of Israel, restored to God's favor. Unfortunately Jacob's descendants, having waxed more secular, will not feel a need to obey God unless they are humiliated through affliction and captivity. After Israel's precipitous fall into depravity, humiliation, and repentance, God will make a new covenant with them, writing His Laws on their hearts.
