sermonette: The Preservation Of Wealth

Saving Is a Duty
John W. Ritenbaugh
Given 22-Sep-07; Sermon #849s; 16 minutes

Description: (hide)

The Bible provides principles for attaining and keeping both material and spiritual wealth. The lazy person, by refusing to create and maintain wealth (dress and keep), actually is as bad as a destroyer. We must take care to save a portion of what we produce, dressing, keeping, maintaining, and caring for what we have created, keeping it from deteriorating-resisting the Second law of thermodynamics. We cannot sit back and assume we will have our wealth forever, but must take measures to see that we do not fritter it away. It is imperative that we have a contingency savings program for those lean times when worldwide economic crashes will be upon us.
