Just as Daniel Boone was a great guide and trailblazer, scouting out the way enabling, over 300,000 settlers to move across the Cumberland Gap, so also the Bible is replete with the forerunner pattern in which a scout makes way for someone else, such as John the Baptist, making a highway in preparation for Christ. Our status consists also of being scouts or harbingers or forerunners to prepare the way for those who will follow. We, as the first fruits, follow in the steps of our Elder brother, the Archegos or pathfinder, preparing the way of the Lord in the wilderness.
