sermonette: How Much Are You Worth

The Value of Every Member of the Body
Ted E. Bowling
Given 04-Oct-08; Sermon #904s; 16 minutes

Description: (hide)

According to the chemical composition of the physical human body, the average human body is worth $4.50. Satan wants all of us to believe we are worth nothing. But to God, a faithful servant is worth an inestimable price. When we factor in the added value of the knowledge of God and spiritual gifts emanating from God's Holy Spirit, the called out one is worth infinitely more than his chemical composition. God's spiritual gifts are intended to edify the whole body of Christ; every church member, having been given some measure of spiritual gifts, supplies something. When each member exercises his or her spiritual gifts, the entire body benefits from this display. Regardless of the part of the body you are, the whole body is affected. It is our responsibility to strengthen and support the brethren. When we are faithful in the little things, we collectively make a big impact. We are to love God with all our might, and our neighbors as ourselves. If we are faithful with the gifts God has given us, we become faithful to God and our brethren.
