sermonette: What Do We Do Now?

Repentence/Passover Preparation
Bill Onisick
Given 07-Mar-09; Sermon #926s; 16 minutes

Description: (hide)

On Pentecost, 31 AD, the language-confounding beginning at Babel was temporarily suspended, allowing Peter to preach the prophecies regarding the receiving of God's Holy Spirit. When the crowd listened in earnest, they realized it was not Peter speaking, but the word of God, convicting them of their culpability in Jesus Christ's crucifixion. Peter admonished them to repent. Like the crowd listening to Peter's wake-up call, we also should have deep sorrow for our responsibility in Christ's death, leading us to repent and dramatically change our lives, moving against the current of this world, working out our own salvation in fear and trembling, leading us to sanctification.
