sermonette: The Number Three in Scripture

Peter's Fear
Ronny H. Graham
Given 04-Apr-09; Sermon #930s; 19 minutes

Description: (hide)

Numbers are involved in everything we are involved in. In scripture, when the number 3 is involved, it designates completion: the pyramid is the strongest structure. God is described as Omniscient, Omnipresent, and Omnipotent. Noah had three sons. The Patriarchs were listed as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jesus was in the tomb three days. Peter denied Christ three times. The cock crowed three times. Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him more than these three times. The vision of a sheet appears three times. Three men showed up at the door. The number three seems to underscore that what God has started God will complete.
