sermonette: Care Toward a Tare

Discerning Without Disturbing
Ted E. Bowling
Given 16-May-09; Sermon #938s; 16 minutes

Description: (hide)

The tares (symbolizing counterfeit churches and false brethren within God's church) on the surface looks just like the wheat, but the darnell has poisonous qualities producing dangerous impact on the nervous system, producing drunkenness and blindness. In its formative stage, darnell and wheat look identical. As wheat and darnell mature, eventually bearing fruit, they can be distinguished. We must be extremely slow to judge, realizing that some wheat matures slower than others, requiring patience on the part of the faster growing wheat. All undergo unique stresses and trials. We must emulate Jesus Christ, who did not uproot the tare (Judas Isacariot) and did not disclose his identity to the disciples.
