sermonette: The Problem with Untrustworthiness

Do you Trust God?
David C. Grabbe
Given 30-Mar-10; Sermon #984bs; 19 minutes

Description: (hide)

Despite the many miraculous interventions of Almighty God, our forbears, because of their evil heart of unbelief, found God untrustworthy and so they did not enter the Promised Land. Their sad story was given to us for our admonition, that we do not emulate them. The natural, carnal mind, described also as a deceitful heart, is neither trustworthy not does it trust in anything. We are surrounded by examples of untrustworthiness in our society that directly influence our view of God as well. Our view of God determines the quality of our faith or trust. Without saving faith, we will fall to an evil heart of unbelief. We are admonished to trust God, as well as His ability to transform, enabling us to be resurrected and fulfilling our role as His children. Our spiritual lenses on life must be focused upon God's trustworthiness.
