sermonette: The Work of David

The Zeal of David
Charles Whitaker
Given 15-Jan-11; Sermon #1028s; 16 minutes

Description: (hide)

The adjective "zeal" could best characterize David. He was passionate about establishing God's form of government as outlined by the Pentateuch. His brave recapture of Jerusalem and his exuberance in attaining the Ark of the Covenant demonstrate his zeal. Even when he made mistakes, he was quick to repent and instantly learn lessons and institute sensible policy changes regarding the Levites, Kohathites, and Gershonites. By exercising his zeal, he changed or modified old formats, making them compatible with new needs or conditions, but still remaining within the spirit with God's Law.
