sermonette: Why Did You Leave?

Knitting Ourselves to God Through the Body
Ronny H. Graham
Given 02-Apr-11; Sermon #1039s; 20 minutes

Description: (hide)

When we first come into God's church, we have relationships which are closer than blood relations. These blessings of close friendships appear throughout the Bible, including Abraham and God, Naomi and Ruth, Nathan and David, and Jonathan and David. Jonathan loved David as his own soul, sacrificing his weaponry and robe, foreshadowing David's eventual kingship. The friendship between David and Jonathan was knit together by God's Holy Spirit. Similarly, we are all drawn together by God's Holy Spirit in God's church. A hallmark identifying feature of a member of God's church consists of loving one another, knitting our affections to one another.
