sermonette: Dealing With Forced Change

A Variety of Situations Require Thought
John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)
Given 25-Apr-11; Sermon #1044As; 20 minutes

Description: (hide)

If everyone used the same standard of weights and measures, we would have tranquility, and if people used differing measures, we would have chaos. Like the forced changes in the movie Fiddler on the Roof, forced changes will also come upon our people and us individually, creating stress and future-shock. God has set choices before us which will bring either life or death; therefore, we need to develop clarity on the moral and ethical issues God wishes us to follow. Sometimes the choices are clear; sometimes some latitude is possible. Where clarity is somewhat murky, God expects us to use our consciences and common sense, relying on our God-given faith. In the matter of giving an offering, God leaves the decision of the amount of our offering to us, based on our faith and circumstances.
