sermonette: Humbling Ourselves

Humility
Ronny H. Graham
Given 23-Jul-11; Sermon #1058s; 18 minutes

Description: (hide)

Nothing gets God's attention more than those who exercise humility, an extremely difficult trait to learn. Moses, Job, and Samson had to learn humility the hard way, with painful life- experiences. Isaac seemed to have a natural trait of humility, preferring to defer rather than to fight. Ruth also exemplified the trait of humility, serving her mother-in-law faithfully. King Ahab also, at one point, humbled himself before God, deferring the punishment to his family until after his death. God knows how to humble us, but we should learn to do that on our own. Humility and pride cannot co-exist. If our country would humble itself, our people might be extracted from its evil circumstances.
