sermonette: The Posture of Prayer

Is There a 'Right' Position to Pray?
Richard T. Ritenbaugh
Given 27-Aug-11; Sermon #1063s; 17 minutes

Description: (hide)

When Jesus was in distress in the Garden of Gethsemane, He prayed on His knees, as if kneeling before royalty. Other postures for prayer in the Bible include being seated at the table asking a blessing, standing, or lying prostrate. Jesus Christ's most fervent prayer perhaps occurred when He was hanging on the cross. In emergency situations, it does not matter what position we find ourselves; God will hear. Content and attitude are far more important than position.
