sermonette: The Two Trees

Charles Whitaker (1944-2021)
Given 21-Jul-12; Sermon #1112s; 17 minutes

Description: (hide)

The two trees in the Garden of Eden represent the choices of obedience to God or disobedience to God and His commandments. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is not the same as the Tree of Life, symbolizing the dichotomy of the old man and the new man. God did not offer Adam and Eve eternal life at that time; consequently there was not yet fruit on the tree of Eternal Life. God offers this fruit to those He has called. Revelation 21:9 suggests that the Tree will be available in the future. The Tree of Life will grow on the both sides of the River of Living Water. Collectively, all of God's called out ones will constitute the Tree of Life.
