sermonette: Principles of the Body

The Head Causes Growth
David C. Grabbe
Given 19-Jan-13; Sermon #1139s; 17 minutes

Description: (hide)

In the midst of the scattering, although superficial observation suggests that the church has deteriorated, spiritual growth has taken place among those who have held Jesus Christ as the Head. The growth consists of character, wisdom, and understanding, brought about by stress, breaking down, and re-grouping. Some growth can only occur through odious and disgusting processes. The break-apart of our previous fellowship has taken place for our safety, perhaps as a kind of quarantine, isolating us from infectious heresies and spiritual diseases. Jesus Christ as the Head has needed to isolate and immobilize members for safety and healing. We must surrender to the work of the Head who brings about the growth.
