sermonette: Abraham's Faith in Giving

Offertory
Martin G. Collins
Given 01-Apr-13; Sermon #1151As; 14 minutes

Description: (hide)

In the incident in which Abraham rescued his nephew Lot from Sodom, Abraham refused King Bara's offer of spoils. Abraham did accept the offer of bread and wine from Melchizedek (King of Righteousness or Salem), giving Him a tithe of all he possessed, indicating that he would choose the way of God over the spoils of the world—choosing Salem over Sodom. Abraham brought gifts to the Eternal from a grateful heart, was prompt and proportionate in his giving. We are encouraged to follow Abraham's example.
