Someone who attempts to navigate his way in the dark and collides into door jambs knows that light is precious. Sunlight enables plants to engage in photosynthesis and provides warmth for all creation. Spiritually speaking, light symbolizes truth; God's Law is a lamp unto our feet. Satan is the prince of darkness, trying to deceive us into walking into many metaphorical door jambs. Without light, we are in danger of losing our way. When God opens our mind to a sliver of light radiating from His Word, we begin to find our direction, order, and the fear of darkness is eliminated, preventing us from walking into spiritual door jambs and other obstacles.
