commentary: America's Goddess (Part Two)

The Statue of Liberty
Martin G. Collins
Given 23-Jul-16; Sermon #1333c; 13 minutes

Description: (show)

Martin Collins, reflecting upon President Grover Cleveland's approbation of the Statue of Liberty as our "peaceful deity—greater than all gods," views with alarm the Wiccan Community's current practice of praying to the Statue of Liberty, as the nature goddess who can inspire and liberate us from unjust oppression, especially God's 'oppressive law.' Michael Snyder, claiming that the Wiccan religion is the fastest growing religion in America, with over 3,000,000internet subscribers, describes this phenomenon as the revival of Babylonian sex worship, involving Ishtar, Athena, Minerva, Semiramis, Isis, and the queen of heaven. The proponents of the Wiccan culture desire to end denominationalism by: "cross pollinating" with morally decaying traditional denominations, syncretizing God's true doctrines, such as anointing, laying on of hands and promising forgiveness of sins with such filthy acts as "liberating" sexual intercourse with temple priestesses. One 'Christian' denomination has embraced Ishtarism, encouraging the end of monogamous relationships. The Federal Courts, while they abhor any displays of God's Ten Commandments, have no problems with the many varieties of Ishtar murals and statues in Federal and state capitols. The revival of Babylonian mystery religion will not bring America liberty, but instead grievous bondage to sin. God's called-out ones must wash their hands of this filthiness and embrace God's Law, looking forward to the return of Jesus Christ, the true Liberator.

The 22nd and 24th President of the U.S., Stephen Grover Cleveland is the only POTUS to serve two non-consecutive terms, as well as the first to be married in the White House. President Cleveland had this to say at the Statue of Liberty’s dedication on October 28, 1886, regarding the statue:

We are not here today to bow before the representative of a fierce and war-like god, filled with wrath and vengeance, but, instead, we contemplate our own peaceful deity keeping watch before the open gates of America, and greater than all that have been celebrated in ancient song. Instead of grasping in her hand the thunderbolts of terror and of death, she holds aloft the light that illumines the way to man’s enfranchisement.

So, President Cleveland inaugurated Lady Liberty as America’s goddess, America’s own “peaceful deity,” and declared her greater than all other gods. Her influence has not waned in this nation to this day.

The website "Wiccan Together" ("The Online Community for Wiccans and Pagans") makes the following statement which reveals the goddess status of “Lady Liberty”:

To many Wiccans and other Pagans, Lady Liberty is more than a symbol. She is a powerful and ancient Goddess who can guide, inspire, protect, and comfort. Pagans have invoked Lady Liberty in rituals for personal and/or social liberation. Some Pagans include Her image and/or statue in their household shrines and altars.

Many occult groups such as Wiccans are required to pray to the statue of Liberty on a symbolically important day, such as a patriotic holiday or on their eight seasonal occultist Sabbats.

On these days Wiccans and other Pagans and some New Agers are to leave an offering at (or in alignment with) the feet of a statue or picture of Liberty. The offering can be a flower, a coin, a special stone or crystal, or something that signifies "freedom" to them. They are to sit or stand quietly before her image, and pray through it to the Goddess it represents.

From then on, whenever they feel so moved, or whenever they pass by the image, they are to send forth a prayer for freedom. They can pray for liberation from any unjust oppression, whether personal or collective, and say, "free me," or "free us." The intent is to be free of God’s “oppressive” law and way of life.

The number of Wiccans and Witches in the U.S. has been growing exponentially. The Witches' Voice is one of the largest and most professional Wiccan websites. In their press kit, in 2000, they commented on the vast numbers of Witches, Wiccans and pagans:

No one knows for sure but we do know that the number is increasing rapidly. Our best estimate here at The Witches' Voice is about 1 million in the U.S. and 3 million worldwide."

Also in 2000:

Guy Vestal, CEO of Pagan Internet Industries Inc. found that his study of 'pagan demographics' indicates there are roughly 3 million Pagan Internet users. And he suspects the actual total is much higher. . . . because most are afraid to come out of the closet.

According to an October 30, 2013 article by Michael Snyder, titled “The Fastest Growing Religion in America Is Witchcraft”:

Wicca can actually be traced all the way back to ancient Babylon. According to Wikipedia, Wicca “is a modern pagan, witchcraft religion”. At this point there are more than 200,000 registered witches and approximately 8 million unregistered practitioners of Wicca as of 2011. And it is important to remember that Wicca is just one form of witchcraft. There are many other “darker” forms of witchcraft that are also experiencing tremendous growth.

According to The Statesman, Anne Elizabeth Wynn claims,“The two most recent American Religious Identification Surveys declare Wicca, one form of paganism, as the fastest growing spiritual identification in America“.

Marla Alupoaicei, who co-wrote the book “Generation Hex” with fellow Christian author Dillon Burroughs, claims,

“Wicca is the fastest-growing religion in America, set to be the third largest religion by 2012.”

“The numbers of adherents are doubling every 30 months.”

“Furthermore, every major city in the United States has networks of Wiccans.”

For Wiccans and other pagans, Lady Liberty is a powerful and ancient goddess. She represents Ishtar, Isis, Athena, and goddesses from other cultures. But this goddess worship is not limited to Pagans.

According to R.A. Coombes, in his article “Ishtarism Coming Out of the Closet in American Churches!” from TheAlphaOmegaReport website,

Not only do we see Ishtar or Isis in the form of Lady Liberty coming to the forefront in the rise of witchcraft and paganism in the USA, but we also see Ishtar in a more veiled aspect sweeping through the churches of America and other Western nations.

It comes in a more subtle approach. There has been an increase of usage of the term “goddess” in such mainstream Protestant denominations as Methodists, Episcopalians and even the Presbyterian Church USA.

This same Ishtar, Goddess of Liberty, is having her influence on some New Age mainstream “Christian” churches. There has been a call for a “New Apostolic Reformation” within the Charismatic and Liberal Mainstream Protestant Denominations as well as within the Catholic Church to a certain extent. Ishtar doctrines are now developing in a few Charismatic organizations using the term “cross-pollination.”

The idea of “cross-pollinating” would allegedly bring unity to the churches and end denominationalism. The idea itself carries sexual overtones. There have been reports of sexual misconduct within what is called “Third Wave” churches where women are urged to “cross-pollinate” for the sake of revival, renewal and the gospel.

In these movements sexual promiscuity is part of a worship service, the inclusion of sexual relations as part of an anointing process along with the "laying on of hands" in order to gain special spiritual blessings or spiritual "power" or healing or forgiveness of sins.

In the Ishtar/Isis doctrine of salvation “the forgiveness of sins” is the most key element of all, and yet until now the most hidden part of the Ishtar agenda was her salvation doctrines which involve sexual relations with a temple priestess in which the goddess possesses the body of the priestess (or priest) and the worshipper then engages in sexual relations with the priestess in order to "become one with the goddess." [This is a church claiming to be Christian.]

That "becoming one" supposedly enables the worshipper to have their sins "washed away" (“purified”) because they become "one" with the goddess and her divine nature not only washes away the sins but also "enlightens" the worshipper to new insights of life.

Among many mainstream liberal, Protestant denominations the trend is already moving towards the concepts of Ishtarism.

There is a group named “Liberated for Christ" that is setting up an ultra-liberal “Christian” church organization in which non-monogamous Christianity is practiced. [In the '70s, that was called "swinging."]

It is essentially the notion that married couples or singles can and should engage in sexual activities without regard to the concept of marriage. This group gives their members license to commit sexual immorality and adultery.

All these sexual overtones are nothing more than the old Assyrian/Babylonia mystery religion, deifying and worshipping Nimrod’s lascivious mother and lover Semiramis, also known as: the Babylonian goddess Ishtar, the Egyptian Queen of Heaven Isis, the Greek Athena, the Ephesian Diana, the Roman Minerva, and the American Lady Liberty.

While the U.S. Supreme Court has been undermining Biblical authority, it has had no problem with pagan gods and goddesses like the Statue of Liberty (America’s Goddess) on public property, even those publicly funded.

While the Supreme Court has vigilantly pursued the removal of the Ten Commandments from many public places, it has not ordered the removal of the Roman Minerva (Ishtar, Isis) from the Library of Congress Annex, the statue of Vulcan in Birmingham, AL, and the pagan deity Ceres and Isis on many state seals across the U.S.

The list goes on endlessly, which shows the overwhelming Satanic influence on this nation—a nation which has been so abundantly blessed by the Supreme Almighty God, but now is under a curse because of her evil ways.

This goddess worship will continue well into the Tribulation, even though mankind will have suffered global destruction of trees and grass, seas becoming blood, all drinking water becoming bitter, global darkness, locusts and plagues that prove the goddess’ worthlessness.

Revelation 9:20-21 says,

Revelation 9:20-21 But the rest of mankind [that is, after all these things happen to them], who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Even with all the destruction coming to this world because of its sins, some will still not turn from these things.

Lady Liberty, America’s Goddess, is not as peaceful and freedom-loving as she seems. She is a destroyer of families and nations and Christianity through immorality because she represents and promises liberty from the One True Sovereign God. She is a symbol of anti-Christ beliefs and actions. This goddess worship is only the tip of the iceberg.

Revelation 22:14-15 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

The only way you can have true joy is to be on God's side, and to worship Him, and to reject the filthiness of the paganism that is in this world, and which this nation has been subjected to for far too long. So, we certainly look forward to the return of Jesus Christ that will change everything that is bad.
