sermonette: Conscientiousness

Joseph B. Baity
Given 13-Sep-25; Sermon #1836s; 19 minutes

Description: (hide)

We are obligated to be conscientious and diligent in whatever work is placed before us, guided by our conscience and influenced by the Spirit, as the world backslides because of degradation of morals and a reduced attention span driven by technological algorithms. This message references two recent events in the news: the hideous stabbing of a Ukrainian refugee and the assassination and murder of Charlie Kirk, a conservative commentator who died having a dialogue with hostile university students. Truly, we live in a time in which movements and cultures cheapen life, reducing people's resolve to save society from falling apart. Ecclesiastes 9 admonishes that we do everything with our might. We are admonished to have caution as to how technology is reducing our attention span and how that takes away focus from our God-given tasks so that we cannot give our hearts and minds to the responsibilities Almighty God places in front of us.
