American Standard Version
All these were sons of Jediael, according to the heads of their fathers' `houses', mighty men of valor, seventeen thousand and two hundred, that were able to go forth in the host for war.

All these were the sons of Jediael, according to the heads of their fathers' houses, mighty men of valor, 17,200, able {and} fit for service in war.

Contemporary English Version
They were family leaders in their clan, which had 17,200 soldiers prepared to fight in battle.

Darby English Version
All these were the sons of Jediael, by the heads of their fathers, mighty men of valour, seventeen thousand two hundred, fit for service for war.

They were heads of families in the clan and were all famous soldiers. Their descendants included 17,200 men eligible for military duty.
