And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, in that I have done this thing: but now, put away, I beseech thee, the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

And David said to God, I have sinned greatly because I have done this thing. But now, I beseech You, take away the hateful wickedness of Your servant; for I have done very foolishly.

Contemporary English Version
David prayed, "I am your servant. But what I did was stupid and terribly wrong. Please forgive me."

Darby English Version
And David said to God, I have sinned greatly, in that I have done this thing; and now, I beseech thee, put away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

David said to God, "I have committed a terrible sin in doing this! Please forgive me. I have acted foolishly."
