American Standard Version
And the food shall be for a store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.

Amplified® Bible
And that food shall be put in store for the country against the seven years of hunger {and} famine that are to come upon the land of Egypt, so that the land may not be ruined {and} cut off by the famine.

Contemporary English Version
It can be stored until it is needed during the seven years when there won't be enough grain in Egypt. This will keep the country from being destroyed because of the lack of food.

Darby English Version
And let the food be as store for the land for the seven years of famine, which will be in the land of Egypt, that the land perish not through the famine.

Good News Bible
The food will be a reserve supply for the country during the seven years of famine which are going to come on Egypt. In this way the people will not starve."
