Psalms 72:16
Compare all
14 He will redeem their life from oppression and violence;
And aprecious shall be their blood in His sight.
15 And He shall live;
And the gold of aSheba will be given to Him;
Prayer also will be made for Him continually,
And daily He shall be praised.
16 There will be an abundance of grain in the earth,
On the top of the mountains;
Its fruit shall wave like Lebanon;
aAnd those of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
17 aHis name shall endure forever;
His name shall continue as long as the sun.
And bmen shall be blessed in Him;
cAll nations shall call Him blessed.
18 aBlessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel,
bWho only does wondrous things!
19 And ablessed be His glorious name forever!
bAnd let the whole earth be filled with His glory.
Amen and Amen.
20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

Psalms 72:16

There shall be a handful of corn - The earth shall be exceedingly fruitful. Even a handful of corn sown on the top of a mountain shall grow up strong and vigorous; and it shall be, in reference to crops in other times as the cedars of Lebanon are to common trees or shrubs: and as the earth will bring forth in handfuls, so the people shall be multiplied who are to consume this great produce.

And they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth - There have been many puzzling criticisms concerning this verse. What I have given I believe to be the sense.
