Excerpted from: Conviction, Moses and UsGod did lead them like sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron, but it was forty years later when that occurred. When Moses was forty and he killed that Egyptian, undoubted he felt a sense of destiny. He knew certain things. They were at least common knowledge to him, which is why he acted the way that he did. He must have understood in some way that he was the one through whom God was going to lead the children of Israel from their slavery.
