Exodus 1:6

4 Dan, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

5 All those¹ who were descendants of Jacob were ^aseventy persons (for Joseph was in Egypt already).

6 And ^aJoseph died, all his brothers, and all that generation.

7 ^aBut the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, multiplied and¹ grew exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them.

8 Now there arose a new king over Egypt, ^awho did not know Joseph.

All that generation by degrees wore off: perhaps all Jacob's sons died much about the same time, for there was not past seven years difference in age between the eldest and the youngest of them, except Benjamin.
