What Does Psalms 110:1 Mean?

The most quoted Old Testament verse in the New Testament, cited fourteen times, this provides the textual foundation for the Father-Son relationship, the basis of all true theology. The Hebrew reads, Yahweh declares to my Adon, showing two divine beings, not a third person of a trinity. Yahweh is the great God; Adon means Lord or master, the highest rank. The time setting is Christ's ascension after His resurrection, when He rose, was enthroned, and sat at the Father's right hand, His dominion becoming official. Revelation 3:21 shows He first had to overcome. Yet He waits until His enemies become His footstool, looking toward a future victory when He executes rebellious kings. His ascension marked the end of one manner of operation and the beginning of another.

Psalm 110:1-7

Even the Psalms describe the awesome might of Christ's return, showing that it is one of war and vengeance with great wrath. He is coming with power to set things straight.
