1 Praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord;
^aPraise Him, O you servants of the Lord!

2 ^aYou who stand in the house of the Lord,
In ^bthe courts of the house of our God,

3 Praise the Lord, for ^athe Lord is good;
Sing praises to His name, ^bfor it is pleasant.

4 For ^athe Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself,
Israel for His¹ special treasure.

5 For I know that ^athe Lord is great,
And our Lord is above all gods.

Psalms 135:1

Praise ye the Lord - Hebrew, Hallelu-jah. Literally, "Praise Jah," an abridged name for Yahweh. See the notes at Psalms 68:4.

Praise ye the name of the Lord - The same as praising God himself.

Praise him, O ye servants of the Lord - You who are especially designated or appointed to this service, Psalms 134:1.
