A Praise of David.

1 I will1 extol You, my God, O King;
And I will bless Your name forever and ever. 
2 Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
3 aGreat is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And bHis greatness is unsearchable. 
4 aOne generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.

Psalms 145:1-2

A Psalm of praise to God for His mighty, righteous, and gracious government of all men, and of His humble and suffering people in particular. (Psa. 145:1-21)

(Compare Psalms 30:1).

bless thy name—celebrate Thy perfections (Psalms 5:11). God is addressed as king, alluding to His government of men.
