The Call of Wisdom
At the openings of the gates in the city
She speaks her words:
For scorners delight in their scorning,
And fools hate knowledge.
And your destruction comes like a whirlwind,
When distress and anguish come upon you.
They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.
And be filled to the full with their own fancies.
And the complacency of fools will destroy them;
And bwill be secure, without fear of evil.”

Proverbs 1:13-14
The second form of temptation (see Proverbs 1:10 note) appeals to the main attraction of the robber-life, its wild communism, the sense of equal hazards and equal hopes.
