Proverbs 6:10
Compare all
8 Provides her1 supplies in the summer,
And gathers her food in the harvest.
9 aHow long will you1 slumber, O sluggard?
When will you rise from your sleep?
10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of the hands to sleep—
11 aSo shall your poverty come on you like a prowler,
And your need like an armed man.

The Wicked Man

12 A worthless person, a wicked man,
Walks with a perverse mouth;
13 aHe1 winks with his eyes,
He shuffles his feet,
He points with his fingers;

Proverbs 6:10

Yet a little sleep, a little slumber - This, if not the language, is the feeling of the sluggard. The ant gathers its food in summer and in harvest, and sleeps in winter when it has no work to do. If the sluggard would work in the day, and sleep at night, it would be all proper. The ant yields him a lesson of reproach.
