He that correcteth a scoffer getteth to himself reviling; And he that reproveth a wicked man `getteth' himself a blot.

Amplified® Bible
He who rebukes a scorner heaps upon himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man gets for himself bruises.

Contemporary English Version
Correct a worthless bragger, and all you will get are insults and injuries.

Darby English Version
He that instructeth a scorner getteth to himself shame; and he that reproveth a wicked [man] [getteth] to himself a blot.

Good News Bible
If you correct conceited people, you will only be insulted. If you reprimand evil people, you will only get hurt.

King James Version
He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
