6 In the house of the righteous there is much treasure,
But in the revenue of the wicked is trouble.

7 The lips of the wise¹ disperse knowledge,
But the heart of the fool does not do so.

8 ^aThe sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But the prayer of the upright is His delight.

9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But He loves him who ^afollows righteousness.

10 ^aHarsh discipline is for him who forsakes the way,
And ^bhe who hates correction will die.

The sacrifice [and] prayer—are acts of worship.

way . . . followeth . . . righteousness—denote conduct. God's regard for the worship and deeds of the righteous and wicked respectively, so stated in Psalms 50:17; Isaiah 1:11.
