The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib; `but' Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

Amplified® Bible
The ox [instinctively] knows his owner, and the donkey his master's crib, but Israel does not know {or} recognize Me [as Lord], My people do not consider {or} understand.

Contemporary English Version
Oxen and donkeys know who owns and feeds them, but my people won't ever learn."

The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib; Israel doth not know, my people hath no intelligence.

Cattle know who owns them, and donkeys know where their master feeds them. But that is more than my people Israel know. They don't understand at all."
