The waters of aShiloah that flow softly,
And rejoice bin Rezin and in Remaliah’s son;
The waters of1 the River, strong and mighty—
The king of Assyria and all his glory;
He will1 go up over all his channels
And go over all his banks.
He will overflow and pass over,
aHe will reach up to the neck;
And the stretching out of his wings
Will fill the breadth of Your land, O bImmanuel.
Give ear, all you from far countries.
Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces;

Fear God, Heed His Word

Isaiah 8:7
The river - Of Euphrates, called the river, for its eminent greatness; whereby he understands the Assyrian forces. Glory - His numerous and puissant army. He - This great river shall overflow its own proper channels. That is, this great monarch shall enlarge his dominions, and add the lands of Syria and Israel to them.
