American Standard Version
For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it; and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.

Amplified® Bible
For [they will find that] the bed is too short for a man to stretch himself on and the covering too narrow for him to wrap himself in. [All their sources of confidence will fail them.]

Contemporary English Version
Your bed is too short, your blanket too skimpy.

Darby English Version
For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on, and the covering too narrow when he would wrap himself in it.

Good News Bible
You will be like the person in the proverb, who tries to sleep in a bed too short to stretch out on, with a blanket too narrow to wrap himself in.

King James Version
For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.

The bed is too short on which to stretch out, And the blanket is too small to wrap oneself in.
