American Standard Version
And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust; and thy voice shall be as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.

Amplified® Bible
And you shall be laid low [Jerusalem], speaking from beneath the ground, and your speech shall come humbly from the dust. And your voice shall be like that of a ghost [produced by a medium] coming from the earth, and your speech shall whisper {and} squeak as it chatters from the dust.

Contemporary English Version
From deep in the earth, you will call out for help with only a faint whisper.

Darby English Version
And thou shalt be brought low, thou shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall come low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.

Good News Bible
Jerusalem will be like a ghost struggling to speak from under the ground, a muffled voice coming from the dust.
