American Standard Version
For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls that I have made.

Amplified® Bible
For I will not contend forever, neither will I be angry always, for [if I did stay angry] the spirit [of man] would faint {and} be consumed before Me, and [My purpose in] creating the souls of men would be frustrated.

Contemporary English Version
My people, I won't stay angry and keep on accusing you. After all, I am your Creator. I don't want you to give up in complete despair.

Darby English Version
For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth; for the spirit would fail before me, and the souls [which] I have made.

Good News Bible
I gave my people life, and I will not continue to accuse them or be angry with them forever.

King James Version
For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.

New American Standard Bible
"For I will not contend forever, Nor will I always be angry; For the spirit would grow faint before Me, And the breath {of those whom} I have made.

New International Version
I will not accuse forever,
nor will I always be angry,
for then the spirit of man would grow faint before me—
the breath of man that I have created.

New King James Version
For I will not contend forever,
Nor will I always be angry;
For the spirit would fail before Me,
And the souls which I have made.

N.A.S.B. in E-Prime
"For I will not contend forever, Nor will I always show anger; For the spirit would grow faint before Me, And the breath of those whom I have made.

Revised Standard Version
For I will not contend for ever, nor will I always be angry; for from me proceeds the spirit, and I have made the breath of life.

Young's Literal Translation
For, not to the age do I strive, nor for ever am I wroth, For the spirit from before Me is feeble, And the souls I have made.
