God’s Mercy Remembered
And the praises of the Lord,
According to all that the Lord has bestowed on us,
And the great goodness toward the house of Israel,
Which He has bestowed on them according to His mercies,
According to the multitude of His lovingkindnesses.
bAnd the Angel of His Presence saved them;
cIn His love and in His pity He redeemed them;
And dHe bore them and carried them
All the days of old.
cSo He turned Himself against them as an enemy,
And He fought against them.
Moses and his people, saying:
“Where is He who bbrought them up out of the sea
With the1 shepherd of His flock?
cWhere is He who put His Holy Spirit within them,
aWith His glorious arm,
bDividing the water before them
To make for Himself an everlasting name,
And the Spirit of the Lord causes him to rest,
So You lead Your people,
aTo make Yourself a glorious name.
A Prayer of Penitence
And see bfrom Your habitation, holy and glorious.
Where are Your zeal and Your strength,
The yearning cof Your heart and Your mercies toward me?
Are they restrained?
Though Abraham bwas ignorant of us,
And Israel does not acknowledge us.
You, O Lord, are our Father;
Our Redeemer from Everlasting is Your name.
And hardened our heart from Your fear?
Return for Your servants’ sake,
The tribes of Your inheritance.

Isaiah 63:9
The angel - The same that conducted them through the wilderness; the Lord Jesus Christ, who appeared to Moses in the bush. Saved them - From the house of bondage. Carried - He carried them in the arms of his power, and on the wings of his providence. And he is said to do it of old, To remember his ancient kindness for many generations past.
