Jeremiah 2:15
Lions - Understand the Assyrians, Babylonians, and Egyptians, called lions from their fierceness, and young from their strength. Yelled - Noting the terrible voice that the lion puts forth, either in seizing the prey, or devouring it.
13 “For My people have committed two evils:
They have forsaken Me, the afountain of living waters,
And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.
They have forsaken Me, the afountain of living waters,
And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.
15 aThe young lions roared at him, and growled;
They made his land waste;
His cities are burned, without inhabitant.
They made his land waste;
His cities are burned, without inhabitant.
17 aHave you not brought this on yourself,
In that you have forsaken the Lord your God
When bHe led you in the way?
In that you have forsaken the Lord your God
When bHe led you in the way?
