<< Jeremiah 11:14   Jeremiah 11:16 >>

American Standard Version
What hath my beloved to do in my house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness `with' many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

Amplified® Bible
What right has My beloved [to be] in My house when she has wrought lewdness {and} done treacherously many times? Can vows {and} the holy flesh [of your sacrifices] remove from you your wickedness {and} avert your calamity? Can you by these [escape your doom and] rejoice exultantly?

Contemporary English Version
Then the LORD told me to say to the people of Judah: You are my chosen people, but you have no right to be here in my temple, doing such terrible things. The sacrifices you offer me won't protect you from disaster, so stop celebrating.

Darby English Version
What hath my beloved to do in my house, seeing that the more part practise their evil devices, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? When thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

Good News Bible
The LORD says, "The people I love are doing evil things. What right do they have to be in my Temple? Do they think they can prevent disaster by making promises and by offering animal sacrifices? Will they then rejoice?

King James Version
What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

New American Standard Bible
"What right has My beloved in My house When she has done many vile deeds? Can the sacrificial flesh take away from you your disaster, So {that} you can rejoice?"

New International Version
"What is my beloved doing in my temple
as she works out her evil schemes with many?
Can consecrated meat avert your punishment ?
When you engage in your wickedness,
then you rejoice. "

New King James Version
“ What has My beloved to do in My house,
Having done lewd deeds with many?
And the holy flesh has passed from you.
When you do evil, then you rejoice.

N.A.S.B. in E-Prime
"What right has My beloved in My house When she has done many vile deeds? Can the sacrificial flesh take away from you your disaster, So that you can rejoice?"

Revised Standard Version
What right has my beloved in my house, when she has done vile deeds? Can vows and sacrificial flesh avert your doom? Can you then exult?

Young's Literal Translation
What -- to My beloved in My house, Her doing wickedness with many, And the holy flesh do pass over from thee? When thou dost evil, then thou exultest.
