Those who come from the anorth.
Where is the flock that was given to you,
Your beautiful sheep?
For you have taught them
To be chieftains, to be head over you.
Will not apangs seize you,
Like a woman in1 labor?
a“Why have these things come upon me?”
For the greatness of your iniquity
bYour skirts have been uncovered,
Your heels1 made bare.
Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil.
The portion of your measures from Me,” says the Lord,
“Because you have forgotten Me
And trusted in bfalsehood.
And your lustful aneighings,
The lewdness of your harlotry,
Your abominations bon the hills in the fields.
Woe to you, O Jerusalem!
Will you still not be made clean?”

Jeremiah 13:22
Thy skirts - Probably these phrases are fetched from the usual practice of soldiers when they have conquered a place and taken prisoners, to strip them. By skirts is meant the lower part of their bodies covered with the lower part of their garments.
