Jeremiah 22:30
Write ye this man childless - Though he had seven sons, I Chronicles 3:17, yet having no successor, he is to be entered on the genealogical tables as one without children for none of his posterity ever sat on the throne of David.
28 “Is this man1 Coniah a despised, broken idol—
aA vessel in which is no pleasure?
Why are they cast out, he and his descendants,
And cast into a land which they do not know?
aA vessel in which is no pleasure?
Why are they cast out, he and his descendants,
And cast into a land which they do not know?
30 Thus says the Lord:
‘Write this man down as achildless,
A man who shall not prosper in his days;
For bnone of his descendants shall prosper,
Sitting on the throne of David,
And ruling anymore in Judah.’ ”
‘Write this man down as achildless,
A man who shall not prosper in his days;
For bnone of his descendants shall prosper,
Sitting on the throne of David,
And ruling anymore in Judah.’ ”
