Articles, Bible studies, and sermons that contain Jeremiah 23:23:
Jeremiah 23:23-25
Excerpted from: The Sin of Self-DeceptionHere is a reality that God presents us with: If a spiritual leader is not telling us the truth of God, that does not excuse us simply because we were not the perpetrator of the lie. Undoubtedly, God will take circumstances into consideration in His judgment, but there still is going to be some penalty! Otherwise, why would He ask the question, "Where can one hide?"
God is stating what was later reiterated in Jeremiah 23. There is individual responsibility and we have to face up to the fact that there is no hiding from God. God does not mean this in a mean way—not at all. He is not trying to make us feel as though we need to be looking over our shoulder all the time for His club to come down on us. That is not what He is looking for.
