a‘Arise, and let us go up to Zion,
To the Lord our God.’ ”

And bgather them from the ends of the earth,
Among them the blind and the lame,
The woman with child
And the one who labors with child, together;

And with supplications I will lead them.

In a straight way in which they shall not stumble;
For I am a Father to Israel,

And declare it in the1 isles afar off, and say,
‘He who scattered Israel awill gather him,
And keep him as a shepherd does his flock.’
Streaming to bthe goodness of the Lord—
For wheat and new wine and oil,
For the young of the flock and the herd;
Their souls shall be like a cwell-watered garden,
dAnd they shall sorrow no more at all.
And the young men and the old, together;
For I will turn their mourning to joy,
Will comfort them,
And make them rejoice rather than sorrow.

Jeremiah 31:8
I will bring them from the north country - From Babylon.
From the coasts of the earth - The ten tribes were carried away partly into Assyria by Tiglath-pileser, and partly into Mesopotamia and Media by Shalmaneser, II Kings 15:29; II Kings 17:6. Assyria and Media, being very distant from Palestine, might have been called, in prophetic language, the coasts of the earth.
The blind and the lame - I will so effectually remove all difficulties out of the way, so provide for them on the journey, so supernaturally support their bodies and minds, that the veriest invalids shall safely proceed to, and happily arrive at, the end of their journey.
