And they shall know that I am Jehovah: I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.

And they shall know, understand, {and} realize that I am the Lord. I have not said in vain that I would bring this evil calamity [in punishment] upon them.

and they will know that I am the LORD and that my warnings must be taken seriously.
